27.08.2024 - First adjustments for the Trinket meta
After hotfix 30.2.1 brought us gold cost adjustments for many of the trinkets and the unexpected removal of Shellemental and readdition of Sin'dorei Straight Shot as well as a lot of bug fixes, Blizzard already announced Patch 30.2.2 for this coming Thursday.
The official HS account on X has posted a preview of the upcoming changes. For Battlegrounds many minions will be buffed and just a few nerfed while the two minions Upbeat Frontdrake and Corrupted Myrmidon will rejoin the brawl.
Buffs: Guff Runetotem, Lightfang Enforcer, Crow's Nest Sentry, Ice Fisher, Cruise Controller, Thundering Abomination, Bountiful Bedrock, Wannabe Gargoyle, Hunter of Gatherers, and Channel the Devourer.
Nerfs: Ancestral Automaton, Snail Cavalry, and Zesty Shaker.
They also hinted at adjustment to some of the more outlying trinkets coming rather sooner than later, as they are quite actively monitoring the current results.
19.08.2024 - Season 8 and patch 30.2 imminent
Back from summer vacation, tomorrow will see the release of Season 8 featuring the all-new Trinkets mechanic. Buddies will be replaced by it, but Spells once again are here to stay. Check out the official season announcement and the full patch notes to see and all the big and small changes on heroes and minions.
In addition to the 116 different trinkets, the patch will bring us 27 new minions, 1 new hero, 2 new spells and 22 returning minions while 41 minions have will be removed from the minion pool.
To see the new trinkets in action several streamers played in a preview event today:
* Jeef pov
* RDU pov
* Zorgo pov
* Dogdog pov
16.07.2024 - Patch 30.0 and a hotfix
While the official patch notes did not deliver much changes for BG players, other than bringing back the buddy spell Buddy Up (reducing its gold cost to 3) and fixing some BG bugs, an additional hotfix was added, outright banning some heroes:
* Alexstrasza, Queen Azshara, Millhouse Manastorm, and Cap'n Hoggarr have been temporarily removed from the Hero Pool for balance reasons.
* Madam Goya and Sylvanas Windrunner have been temporarily removed from the Duos Hero Pool for balance reasons.
With the current BG season most likely ending in around 5 weeks (the Battle Pass is listed as available only until August 20), we can expect one balance patch aimed at Battlegrounds, which should bring these heroes back into the game.
27.06.2024 - Patch 29.6.2 online
Check out the official patch notes for all the adjustments to buddies (lots of tier changes), minions (mostly Beasts and Dragons) and a couple of heroes (the dragon ladies).
Madam Goya has been added back into the Duos game, only after her buddy got limited to non-Buddy minions.
26.06.2024 - First adjustments for the Buddy meta incoming
The official HS account on X has posted a preview of the upcoming changes, which will reach the live servers later this week (Thursday most likely). The two most important changes seem to be the removal of the battlecry enabler Draconic Deathscale and the long awaited nerf to Ghoul-acabra.
Buffs: Electric Synthesizer, Tarecgosa, Roaring Rallier; Whelp Smuggler; Moon Bacon Jazzer; and Boon of Beetles
Nerfs: Alexstrasza (Hero), Onyxia (Hero), Trigore the Lasher, Iridescent Skyblazer, and Ghoul-acabra
Returning to the game: Hunter of Gatherers and Gem Smuggler
Removed from the game: Draconic Deathscale
Buffs to Buddies: George the Fallen, Murloc Holmes, Edwin VanCleef, Scabbs Cutterbutter, Varden Dawngrasp, Rokara, Galewing, Heistbaron Togwaggle, Mutanus the Devourer, Xyrella, Trade Prince Gallywix, Rock Master Voone, Fungalmancer Flurgl, Thorim Stormlord, and Dancin’ Deryl
Nerfs to Buddies: Alexstrasza, Queen Azshara, Cap’n Hoggarr, Yogg-Saron Hope’s End, Overlord Saurfang, Lich Baz’hial, Maiev Shadowsong, Doctor Holli’dae, Death Speaker Blackthorn, Snake Eyes, Chenvaala, Rakanishu, Greybough, Elise Starseeker, Vol’jin, Reno Jackson, Sneed, Professor Putricide, Ini Stormcoil, A. F. Kay, The Curator, and Madam Goya
18.06.2024 - Patch 29.6.0 already live!
In an unexpected move Blizzard decided to release the patch, bringing buddies back into the Battlegrounds, today. Check out the patch preview for all the changes and the official patch notes for an additional list of bugfixes.
If you need a reminder how the gold cost reduction for your buddies works, check out our buddy tier table, and bookmark our searchable list of all buddies (sorted by tier). We also got you covered with our up to date list of known bugs.
Madam Goya already had to be emergency banned due to her buddy being totally unbalanced. Which hero/buddy will be the next one to look out for, or the next one to fall to the banhammer?
15.06.2024 - Buddies will soon rejoin the Battlegrounds
Blizzard announced the upcoming half-season update, bringing back Buddies. This is the first time we will see buddies in the Duos mode and 12 new buddies have been designed for all the new heroes added since the last buddy meta. Check out the complete official announcement including all planned changes on minions, heroes and buddies.
No date has been set for the arrival of this patch, but based on all the details already provided we can expect it to arrive within the next two weeks.
30.05.2024 - Patch 29.4.3 adding missing minions to the game
Blizzard released a small server-side patch 29.4.3 which finally brings Lil' Rag and Rat Pack back into the minion pool.
24.05.2024 - Patch 29.4.2 released
Blizzard released patch 29.4.2 adjusting a plethora of minions and a few spells, too:
These minions/spells received buffs: Trigore the Lasher, Iridescent Skyblazer, Impulsive Trickster, Molten Rock, Party Elemental, Bream Counter, King Bagurgle, Murky, Defiant Shipwright, Gunpowder Courier, Spellbound Seafarer, Underhanded Dealer, Hungering Abomination, Sister Deathwhisper, Deadstomper, Wrath Weaver, Oozeling Gladiator, Fire Dancer, and Cloning Conch (Tavern Spell).
These minions/spells were nerfed: Fiery Felblood, Roaring Rallier, Amber Guardian, Timecap’n Hooktail, Deep Blue Crooner, Whirling Lass-o-Matic, Scrap Scraper, Pokey Thornmantle, Winged Chimera, and Scavenge for Parts, Dreamer’s Embrace, Plunder Seeker (Tavern Spells).
In Duos Orc-estra Conductor was buffed a little bit, while Man’ari Messenger was nerfed from Tier 4 to Tier 5.
They also somehow fumbled on actually adding Lil' Rag and Rat Pack to the game. You can read about stuff like that on our new known bugs page, to stay on top of everything wrong with the game.
02.05.2024 - Patch 29.2.3 released and Mechs back in the game!
Blizzard released a hotfix patch today, bringing back Mechs in their improved forms. Watch out for the magnetic overlords in your games!
They also added separate armor values to each hero for Duos mode (usually 2-3 lower than in Solo mode) and slightly increased the late game (turn 7+) turn timers in Duos.
25.04.2024 - Patch 29.2.2 released and Mechs temporarily out of the game
Blizzard released the patch today. Check out the patch notes for a complete list of minion and spell changes.
Although Mechs received quite some buffs, they already had to be hotfixed out for the moment (too many bugs in the machine).
24.04.2024 - Lots of balance changes incoming and early Duo hotfixes
After not much more than a week of Season 7 gameplay the official Hearthstone account on X has already announced a preview of over 60 BG balancing changes coming with patch 29.2.2 later during this week:
This patch will certainly shake up the young meta once again and possibly reactivate some of the seven currently deactivated heroes, again.
Earlier this week Blizzard felt forced to remove the minions Zilliax: Bonding Module (due to a scaling bug being abused), Orc-estra Conductor (due to being way too overpowered in the Duos mode) and Plunder Pal (due to a regular bug). They will be readded in changed forms with the upcoming patch.
17.04.2024 - All composition pages updated for Season 7
Mewwy did some theorycrafting and came up with different lines and strategies to strive for and try out during the first week. The endgame compositions for all the different minion types have been updated, incorporating the minion changes after Patch 29.2.
The meta is still fresh, so of course this is just a first pass, but should provide you with plenty ideas and directions to aim for. Additonal information on how to build and play these builds will follow in the near future.
Outdated information on other areas of this website will also be updated during the next couple of days, after the new meta has settled a bit. Additionally, we will add an indicator for cards which are only available in Duos as well as special strategy information for this new coop mode.
These compositions are brought to you by high-MMR player and BG coach Mewwy. Check out his YouTube channel and maybe buy him a coffee if you like them.
16.04.2024 - Patch 29.2.0 launching Battlegrounds Duos and Season 7 today!
Season 7 brings a massive rework of minions, over 50 new minions, as well as the new coop mode called Battlegrounds Duos. All the changes, including the Duos exclusive heroes, minions and spells, are documented in the 29.2 patch notes.
Quests will be gone, at least for the next couple of months, but spells were a huge success and are here to stay, with only some smaller adjustments.
If you want to check out some Duos gameplay before joining the fray, Blizzard sponsored a preview for known players of other games:
Voxy and CovertGoBlu
Thijs and Frodan
Nina and Dekkster
Regis and Slysssa
And for team-ups of professional Battlegrounds players:
Jeef, RDU, DogDog, Zorgo, XQN.
11.03.2024 - Patch 29.0.0 launched, bringing back Greta Gold-Gun!
Blizzard has released the 29.0 patch notes, celebrating the 10-year Hearthstone anniversary. The Battlegrounds changes are minimal, but they reactivated the dual Naga/Pirate minion Greta Gold-Gun.
They also teased upcoming infos about the next major BG update (most likely hitting in the middle of April) which will include the BG Duos feature, first announced at Blizzcon in early November. Check out our old news post if you would like to know more.
In other news, Jeef once again proved all the naysayers wrong, who argued that the quest meta is more luck based, by reaching the phenomenal milestone of 18,000 MMR. Check out his YouTube video of his last game (featuring a crazy Mech board) or the whole seven hour Twitch stream.
14.02.2024 - Patch 28.6.0 launched, reactivating quests and rewards!
In a surprise move Blizzard deciced to spice up the BG season of spells by bringing back quests and rewards for everyone (starting on turn 4). Read all about it as well as the minion and spell updates in the 28.6.0 patch notes. For a complete overview check out our listings of all active and inactive quests and rewards.
The patch added 11 new rewards, 7 new minions, 3 new spells, 10 new minion type specific spells and also removed 14 minions from the pool (the most prominent victims being Relentless Mur'ghoul and Octosari, Wrap God), while returning 6 minions from past metas (for example Mantid Queen is back in the game!).
Looking ahead, it seems like the current season will run until the middle of April, so better get used to this new meta.
29.01.2024 - Patch 28.4.1 live today bringing back Lubber
Blizzard has released the Patch 28.4.1 notes applying a few BG balance changes to Beasts, Undead, Quilboars, and Spells.
Also Land Lubber is back in the minion pool, but it got upped to Tier 3 in order to prevent the traditional lubbing strategies. Only time will tell if this was enough of a change or some clever players will come up with another reproducable strategy to lubb.
19.01.2024 - Land Lubber out of the game
Blizzard has just removed the infamous Land Lubber in an emergency hotfix!
And they even added an ingame popup to inform everyone about it (only in english clients), in order to prevent mass tears for staying on Tier 2 for too long.
Seems like they still do listen to the community after all, but sometimes are restrained by their internal schedules and communication. BG Lead Game Designer Mitchell Loewen stated that it will return "with some changes in the next hotfix", which will most likely drop before the end of the month.
17.01.2024 - Patch 28.4.0 bringing back two BG cards
Blizzard has released the Patch 28.4 notes. Unfortunately this time the Battlegrounds mode is merely a sidenote in the patch, as only the previously deactivated due to bugs minion Paint Smudger and the spell Staff of Enrichment will return to the game.
Many players were hoping for a nerf to the so-called lubbing strategy, which is based on the minion Land Lubber in combination with Elementals and Demons, and kinda skewed the metagame during the last couple of weeks.
Influencer manager RidiculousHat stated that testing for balance changes hasn't been possible yet, due to time constraints after the holiday season, but was positive that some changes may turn up before the end of the month.
So we will have to wait a bit longer, until boards like this will be a thing of the past:
05.01.2024 - A new year and a time to look back
Happy New Year, everyone! Back in June 2022, I started this website as a small side project because I was enjoying the Hearthstone Battlegrounds gameplay, and I noticed a kind of void regarding persistent strategic information. I wanted to provide the community, especially newer players, with a hub of knowledge and information (you can check out my original mission statement if you like). I also wanted to test and broaden my skill set, as well as experiment with new ways to structure and develop content.
Today, this website has about 250 unique visitors a day, and according to the engagement time, most users are enjoying and utilizing the content very well. Just last week, I did receive the first-ever PayPal donation, appreciating the time and effort I've put into this site so far. I want to tell that kind stranger and everyone else who supported me on this journey that I am very grateful, and it means a lot to me. With a full-time day job and a family to provide for, I am aware that the speed of adding content is slow compared to other pages, and some technical aspects are still lacking. That is one of the reasons I try to focus on evergreen content and information.
Anyway, my plans for this website for 2024 are:
- Add missing texts and information (for example, the basic definitions)
- Reactivate the currently bugged Blizzard account login so everyone will be able to upvote/downvote the strategy posts once again.
- Streamline and fix mobile views
- Maybe find and motivate more people who have time and knowledge to contribute (shoutout to Mewwy, TranRed, The Pink God, and PockyPlays who already did so during the last year)
- Maybe write a Discord bot utilizing the BGJSON data
I don't usually advertise this website, but if you know someone who could benefit, please spread the word and maybe add some strategy tips yourself. Or, if you are interested in writing down some knowledge or even adding some coding, contribute to this project on GitHub. Also, if you happen to have ideas, for example, what type of content to add or how to further improve this website, please take the time to drop me a quick message at suggestions@bgknowhow.com or on the Competitive BG Discord.
Have a hopefully great and wonderful 2024, everyone!
19.12.2023 - Patch 28.2.3 released and Bloodwatcher unbanned
Blizzard just released Patch 28.2.3 onto the servers, bringing lots of adjustments to many minions and spells, as well as a couple of heroes. For example, after a huge nerf (every third Tavern spell now costing 1 gold less, instead of 0 gold total) Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher is allowed to rejoin the game.
For a quick overview on which cards got nerfed/buffed check out this infographic:
12.12.2023 - Patch 28.2.2 hotfixes and Bloodwatcher banned
After hotfix patch 28.2.1 last week did not bring any changes for BGs, today's hotfix patch 28.2.2 provides us with the first balancing changes in the form of hero armor adjustments. Many heroes received an armor increase, Guff, Ragnaros and Sneed even got buffed to the maximum amount of 20 armor. Whereas only three heroes Lich Baz"hial, Snake Eyes and Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher had their armor reduced.
Also, due to the increasing clever use of game mechanics regarding the hero power Reliquary Research (staying on Tier 2 and buying lots of Strike Oil), Blizzard felt forced to move and decided to deactivate the hero Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher until his hero power will get adjusted, most likely in another patch next Tuesday.
In other news we got confirmation that Upbeat Duo, while not listed in the minion purge lists before Season 6, was indeed intentionally removed and therefore will not come back in the near future.
09.12.2023 - All composition pages updated
The endgame compositions for all the different minion types have been updated, incorporating the minion changes after Patch 28.2.
The meta is still fresh, so of course this is just a first pass, but should provide you with plenty ideas and directions to aim for.
From now on these compositions are brought to you by high-MMR player and BG coach Mewwy. Check out his YouTube channel and maybe buy him a coffee if you liked them.
05.12.2023 - Patch 28.2.0 incoming
The 28.2 patch notes have been released. The patch will hit the servers today, and it will kickstart BG Season 6 with the main theme being the Spells mechanic featuring 42 unique spells, split across the six Tavern Tiers.
Several streamers already played a few hours on the new game version, here is a small selection, to watch while waiting until the patch arrives:
RDU, Jeef, Zorgo, Kripp, SuperJJ.
Also Ridiculous Hat provided a table of minions leaving the game today:
03.12.2023 - Tier 5 and Tier 6 Spells
Kripp posted a video on YouTube revealing all upcoming spells from Tavern Tiers 5 and 6.
With all 42 spells revealed, we now know that each Tier will have 7 different spells, except Tier 4 which will have 9 spells and Tier 6 which will only have 5 spells.
03.12.2023 - New Quilboar and Naga minions
CarryPotter posted a video on YouTube revealing 4 new Quilboars as well as 1 new, 2 returning and 2 adjusted Naga.
Because many Naga minions naturally profit from spells being played, some of them have been adjusted for season 6:
Snail Cavalry will return.
Daggerspine Thrasher has been moved from Tier 3 to Tier 4 and only slightly buffed to a 4/5 minion.
Critter Wrangler will return and will only buff +1/+2 instead of the old +2/+2, but will now trigger on each spell cast instead of only spellcraft casts.
Slitherspear, Lord of Gains has been moved from Tier 5 to Tier 6 and only slightly buffed to a 4/6 minion.
02.12.2023 - Tier 3 and Tier 4 Spells
Jeef, most likely the very best player of season 5, posted a video on YouTube revealing and even rating all upcoming spells from Tavern Tiers 3 and 4.
02.12.2023 - Additional new, returning and leaving minions
Slysssa posted a video on YouTube revealing 6 new minions, 1 returning minion as well as the 6 additional minions leaving when season 6 will go live next Tuesday.
The minions leaving will be:
Kaboom Bot, Seaborn Summoner, Stormbringer, Upbeat Impressionist, Carbonic Copy and fan favourite Nomi, Kitchen Nightmare.
01.12.2023 - New Dragon minions
TCK Battlegrounds streamed the reveal of 4 new Dragon cards as well as 1 new Beast and 1 new Demon:
01.12.2023 - New and leaving Undead minions
Portia provided us with the 6 new Undead minions:
The Undead minions leaving will be:
Rot Hide Gnoll, Scarlet Skull, Soulsplitter, Relentless Sentry, Sore Loser, Sister Deathwhisper.
30.11.2023 - New and leaving Neutral minions
Sway Bae posted a video on YouTube revealing 6 new neutral minions as well as the list of 9 neutral minions leaving when season 6 will go live next Tuesday. These are all 7 currently known neutral minions:
The Neutral minions leaving will be:
Tavern Tipper, Selfless Hero, Iron Groundskeeper, Reef Explorer, Leeroy the Reckless, Mythrax the Unraveler, Tea Master Theotar, Uther the Lightbringer, Zapp Slywick.
30.11.2023 - Tier 1 and Tier 2 Spells
Shady Bunny posted a video on YouTube revealing all upcoming tier 1 and tier 2 spells for season 6 (Recruit a Trainee was already revealed on the Blizz preview), going live on next Tuesday:
One spell of your Tier or lower will be available in the Tavern on each refresh, can be bought for its printed gold cost and will remain in your hand until you choose to play it (just like Blood Gems). With 42 spells in total
it seems like that there will be 7 spells per Tavern Tier
.
29.11.2023 - Battlegrounds Season 6 officially announced!
The PlayHearthstone X account is on fire today and in a suprising move revealed not one, not two, but three new heroes, joining the fray next Tuesday.
We also get a season 6 preview revealing the all new Spell mechanic for the upcoming season. They are previewing 3 of the 42 new spells as well as 3 of 32 brand-new minions and forecasting the return of 5 old minions as well as the removal of 33 currently active ones. In the upcoming days several content creators will reveal all new cards bit by bit. Check out the link to Blizzard for a full reveal schedule and the live-streamed gameplay preview event on December 4th.
29.11.2023 - Patch 28.2 officially announced
The PlayHearthstone X account has finally confirmed that the next Battlegrounds season will start on December 5th after patch 28.2 has been deployed on the servers. The patch notes will drop one day earlier, on Monday. It seems like only then will we know what they have planned as an anomalies replacement for the next season. Chances are high that we will finally get a new hero, though.
28.11.2023 - Patch 28.0.3 now live
The patch notes for 28.0.3 have been published and only a couple of hours later Blizzard already deployed it onto the servers. Enjoy the new power of Elementals and Quilboars!
27.11.2023 - Patch 28.0.3 preview
The PlayHearthstone X account just announced that the full patch notes for patch 28.0.3 (and most likely the patch itself) will hit tomorrow. These are the planned buffs and nerfs:
27.11.2023 - Weekly micro tournaments run on Mobius
Sonic on the Competitive Battlegrounds Discord announced a team up with PlayMobius. Together they plan to organize semiweekly micro tournaments every Wednesday and Saturday, each featuring a prize pool between $6 and $15:

18.11.2023 - Patch 28.0.2 hotfixes
Blizzard released a second hotfix today, removing Shackles of the Primus and Temperance of Aman'Thul from the pool of active anomalies. In addition, they adjusted the appearance rates of a few other anomalies and updated some anomaly-related hero bans.
Also the stat buffing bugs regarding Rylak / Felemental and Nomi should be finally fixed now.
10.11.2023 - Patch 28.0.1 hotfixes
Blizzard released hotfix patch notes including some updated bans for a number of anomalies. For example Mechs will now be banned from How to Even?? and Demons from Deep Blue Sooner.
They also fixed some bugs, including the
Evil
Anomalous Twin anomaly. So there is a high chance for some/most of the recently temporarily deactived anomalies to rejoin the fray.
Unfortunately the omnipresent stat buffing bugs regarding Rylak / Felemental and Nomi have not been fixed, yet.
07.11.2023 - Patch 28.0.0 incoming
The 28.0.0 patch notes have been released. The patch will hit the servers today, and it will activate the last 3 anomalies No Face, No Case, Eleventh Hour and Feline Fortune.
The patch notes come without any other gameplay changes for the BG mode, but Blizzard does state that until the start of the new BG season (in early December) there won't be any additional anomalies released. Besides that, from now on you are able to toggle any number of BG strikes and boards in your collection, in order to get a random one of your selection for each of your games.
04.11.2023 - Battlegrounds Duos announced at BlizzCon
Blizzard just revealed an upcoming two player coop mode for Battlegrounds, which will be released "early in 2024".
The official announcement can be found on the Blizzard HS website or you can view the live on stream reveal (90 seconds) or the complete preview panel (19 minutes).
- Each duo team will share a single HP/armor pool (HP will be 30, armor will be the combined hero armor values of both heroes)
- Each game will feature 4 different duo teams (it can be assumed that the top 2 teams will gain MMR, while the bottom 2 will lose some)
- The buy phase is pretty much the same, but you can check out your partners tavern and board anytime, by clicking on a new portal animation on the right side of your screen
- Each player will have to level their tavern tier up by themselves
- Any card in your hand can be sent to your partner for 1 gold each, by moving it onto the new portal animation
- New overlay effects for the tavern have been added, clearly indicating that a minion in your tavern could make a triple for your partner
- The starting player for the combat phase will alternate between you and your partner every turn (indicated by the order of the player panel on the left side of the screen)
- The board of player#2 will spawn in combat after the board of player#1 has been wiped completely (including effects like Deathrattle)
- There is no direct interaction between you or your teammates board during the combat (e.g. a Rot Hide Gnoll on your partners board will not count minions which died while your board was active)
- If the board of player#1 is already enough to win against both boards of the enemy duo team, the empty slots on the board will be filled up with minions from player#2 after the combat has concluded (therefore increasing the damage the losing team takes)
- The duo mode will add at least 4 new mode-exclusive heroes:
- Cho'Gall featuring the HP "Double Trouble" (Passive. Whenever you play a Golden minion, both you and Gall get a triple reward). These are actually two heroes, but can only be played when picked together, so most likely only when queing up together with your teammate
- Madam Goya featuring the HP "Efficient Exchange" (Pass a non-Golden minion.)
- Flobbidinous Floop featuring the HP "Glorious Gloop" (Choose a friendly minion. Start of Combat: Transform it into your teammate's highest-Attack minion)
- The Nameless One featuring the HP "" (Passive. Start of Game: Copy your teammate's Hero Power)
- The duo mode will add at least 15 new mode-exclusive minions, featuring special abilites designed for the mode:
- Passenger (Tier 1, Neutral) - Whenever your team Passes, gain +1/+1.
- Morgl the Oracle (Tier 1, Murloc) - The first time this is Passed each turn, gain +3/+3.
- Fortune-Hunter Flo (Tier 2, Neutral) - Battlecry: Your teammate gets a Gold Coin.
- Gemcarver Blackthorn (Tier 2, Quilboar) - Deathrattle: You and your teammate get a Blood Gem.
- Orc-estra Conductor (Tier 3, Neutral) - Battlecry: Give a minion +2/+1 (Upgraded for each Orc-estra Conductor your team has played.)
- Plunder Pal (Tier 3, Pirate) - At the start of your turn, your teammate gains 1 Gold.
- Long'xin (Tier 3, Dragon) - At the end of your turn, give your teammate's minions +1 Attack.
- Archimonde (Tier 4, Demon) - Battlecry: Minions in your teammate's Tavern have +2/+2 for the rest of the game.
- Avenging Ally (Tier 4, Undead) - Avenge (3): Your teammate gets a random Reborn or Deathrattle minion.
- Friendly Freshwater (Tier 4, Elemental) - Deathrattle: Your teammate's next 3 Refreshes cost (0).
- Cloning Cuddlgam (Tier 4, All) - When you buy or Discover this, your teammate also gets a copy.
- Electron (Tier 5, Mech) - At the end of your turn, give a minion in your teammate's warband Divine Shield.
- Benefactor (Tier 5, Naga) - Spellcraft: Pass a different non-Golden minion.
- Xuen (Tier 5, Beast) - Deathrattle: Summon a different random minion from your teammate's warband.
- Sandy (Tier 6, Neutral) - Start of Combat: Transform into a copy of your teammate's highest Health minion.
- An icon-based ping system for minions and buttons (freeze, level, etc.) has been added to enable voiceless communication options between teammates. The icons available are a question mark, a green check, a red x and a portal symbol
- There will be seperate queues for traditional BG single player and BG duo teams (with the additional option to also join alone and get teamed up by the system)
- There seems to be a permanent damage cap of 15 at the moment
- Deadguy fight handling seems to be bugged at the moment, as you can fight a duo team again, right after killing it
If you want to see the new mode in action, several well-known streamers have teamed up and streamed from the BlizzCon floor, playing the current beta version (additional vods will be added when available):
- Dog teaming up with Hafu
- RDU teaming up with SuperJJ
- Kripp teaming up with Bofur
- Tyler teaming up with DisguisedToast
- Kibler teaming up with Bunnyhoppor
- SunBaconRelaxer teaming up with Wtybill
- Matsuri teaming up with Ahirun
- TrumpSC teaming up with Rarran
- Portia teaming up with Jinbae
- Tesdey teaming up with ???
Here are the spoiler pictures of the new heroes and minions (additional images will be added when available):
03.11.2023 - Season of Anomalies coming to an end
Observant players have reported that the Blizzard launcher lists the current BG season pass available until the 4th of December. This is a pretty decent indicator that the next BG season will start on December 5th. At the moment it is still unknown if that season will start in vanilla mode or with the return of the Buddy-, the Prize- or the Quest-system. What is certain though is that everyone's MMR rating will be reset to 0 (your hidden MMR will still be there though) and you will have to purchase a new Battle Pass if you want to be able to select more than two heroes at the start of each match.
